Parents are a Powerful Influence

Parents are the most powerful influence on their kids when it comes to drug use. Studies show 3 out of 4 teens said that their parents were the biggest reason in their decision to not smoke or drink. Teens who say their parents warned them about drug use and set clear rules are less likely to use drugs. Build a healthy relationship with your teen, stay connected. It is important to discuss the risks of using alcohol or other drugs. It Starts With You. Talk Early. Talk Often. And Listen[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”22px”][/edgtf_elements_holder_item][/edgtf_elements_holder][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_width=”grid” css=”.vc_custom_1479727115443{padding-top: 120px !important;padding-bottom: 120px !important;background-color: #f6f6f6 !important;}”][vc_column][edgtf_elements_holder number_of_columns=”two-columns” items_float_left=”yes” switch_to_one_column=”1024″][edgtf_elements_holder_item item_padding=”4% 12% 0% 0%” target=”_self” item_padding_1280_1600=”0% 12% 0% 0%” item_padding_1024_1280=”0% 23% 0% 0%” item_padding_768_1024=”0% 26% 4% 0%” item_padding_600_768=”0% 5% 7% 0″ item_padding_480=”0% 0% 12% 0%”][vc_column_text]

Think Your Teen is Using?

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”11px”][edgtf_separator position=”left” color=”#cde422″ width=”55″ thickness=”3″][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_column_text]Figuring out if your child is using substances can be challenging. Many of the signs and symptoms are typical teen or young adult behaviors. Many are also symptoms of mental health issues, including depression or anxiety.

Talking to your children about drug use isn’t always easy but it is crucial for prevention.

Prepare to take action and have a conversation during which you can ask direct questions like “Have you been vaping, drinking or using drugs?”.  No parent wants to hear “yes” but being prepared for how you would respond can be the starting point for a more positive outcome.
